Finally the day has come... Today I show what I have done with the gorgeous bead soup from my BSBP partner Catherine Turrell.

| Die Lucite Blüten und die handgemachten Blätter wollte ich auf jeden Fall verwenden. Darum habe ich sie mir gleich zuerst vorgenommen. Da ich bisher überwiegend mit Rocailles/Saatperlen gearbeitet habe, war das schon ungewohnt, und ich habe lange getüftelt, was ich daraus mache. Erst dachte ich an einen Anhänger mit einer Netzkette oder Ähnliches. Aber irgendwie hat das Design dann ein Eigenleben entwickelt, als ich erst mal angefangen habe. Letztlich habe ich nicht nur die Blüten und Blätter verwendet, sondern auch den großen und vier kleine Schmetterlinge sowie der wunderschöne Verschluss und die Gliederkette. Hier ist nun das Ergebnis. I definitely wanted to use the Lucite flowers and the handmade Polymer Clay leaves. Therefore I pondered their possibilities first. Since so far I had used mostly Rocailles/seed beads this was quite a challenge for me. I considered this and that until I finally had a vague idea of a design in my head. Once I started the design sort of took over and developped on its own. At the end I had not only used the flowers and leaves, but also large butterfly centerpiece and four of the smaller butterflies, the beautiful swirl clasp and the chain from the bead soup. | Eigentlich hätte ich ja mit dem obigen Design schon die Anforderungen erfüllt... Aber als dann der Termin verschoben wurde, hat mich noch mal der Design-Virus gepackt, und ich habe noch dieses Armband aus den faszinierenden Mondsteinperlen, den Pebbles und den Kristallen aus der Perlensuppe sowie noch ein paar Perlen aus meinem eigenen Fundus gefädelt. Dafür habe ich sogar schon einen Namen: Moonlight and Stars. Eigentlich sind das überhaupt nicht meine Farben. Aber es sollte ja auch eine Herausforderung sein ;-) Und jetzt gefällt es mir sogar. Well, I actually fullfilled the conditions of the BSBP already with the first design... But when the reveal date was postponed, I caught the design virus again and strung this bracelet with fascinating moonstone beads, pebbles and crystals from the bead soup and a couple of beads from my own stash. For this bracelet I even thought up a name: Moonlight and Stars. Those colours are not usually what I would choose. But then that was the point - to leave well-trodden paths and find new horizons. And now I do indeed like the result. |

| Und dann konnte ich meine Finger doch nicht von den gewohnten und geliebten Rocailles lassen und habe auch noch diese Netzkette gefädelt. Ich wollte schon immer mal diese gefüllte Netztechnik ausprobieren. Der sanfte, elegante Glanz der weißen Glaswachsperlen aus der Perlensuppe und das zu dem Zeitpunkt immer noch anhaltende Winterwetter inspirierten mich zu einer schneeweißen Kette. Wegen des Wetters habe ich dabei in erster Linie an die Schneekönigin gedacht... Aber mit der Hochzeitssaison vor der Tür könnte ich mir diese Kette auch gut an einer Braut vorstellen. And finally, I could not resist my tried and tested Rocailles/seed beads and netted this necklace. I had thought about trying the filled netting technique for quite a while already. The soft, elegant glow of the white pearls from the bead soup and the at that time still prevailing winter weather inspired this snowy white necklace. Because of the wheather at that time I was mainly thinking of a Snow Queen... But with the wedding season fast approaching I think this necklace would also be fit for a bride. |
